Six-week Fallon Real Estate Entrepreneurship Youth Program exposes students to real estate skills and seeks to bolster the pipeline of diverse real estate professionals

BOSTON – Boston-area students ages 16-21 who are interested in learning the fundamentals of the real estate industry can now apply to join the second annual Fallon Real Estate Entrepreneurship Youth Program, a free, six-week summer program that equips young people with the skills, knowledge, and mentors needed to participate in real estate investing. This year’s course begins on July 12 and takes place at Wentworth Institute of Technology.

The program is a collaboration between The Fallon Company, a leading national real estate development firm headquartered in Boston, and Street2Ivy, an entrepreneurial incubator focused on giving aspiring change-makers in underserved communities the tools and resources they need to solve problems in their communities and beyond. Participants will learn the ins and outs of commercial real estate investment, including how to identify and evaluate potential investment opportunities, conduct property valuation and market analysis, raise capital, and submit and negotiate a winning offer.

“We’re committed to combatting income and wealth disparities in our communities by providing entrepreneurial opportunities that enable residents to achieve economic empowerment,” said Tavares Brewington, founder of Street2Ivy. “We’re thankful for our continued partnership with The Fallon Company, which will provide 21 students in underserved communities around Boston this summer the opportunity to learn from leading experts in Boston’s commercial real estate industry.”

The Fallon Company is the founding partner of the Real Estate Entrepreneurship Youth Program, which aligns with The Fallon Company’s commitment to foster equal and fair inclusion across all projects, direct greater philanthropic support to overlooked and vulnerable communities, and build a more inclusive company and industry.

“We’re proud to have pioneered this unique and essential program that is serving to bolster the pipeline of diverse real estate professionals and create a better economic future for more young people in our community,” said Michael Fallon, CEO of The Fallon Company. “After the program’s successful launch last year, we’re thrilled to collaborate with Street2Ivy to once again offer a summer session and expose more students to all facets of the industry.”

The program will run through August 18. The 21-student cohort will be split up into seven teams and guided by coaches, with experiences both in the classroom and at actual property development sites. For the course’s final project, each team will prepare and present investment strategies to faculty and peers based on hypothetical properties and conditions.

Applications for the free Fallon Real Estate Entrepreneurship Youth Program are now available and can be downloaded here. Applicants can email completed applications to info@street2ivy.com. The deadline to apply is Friday, July 8.
